I suppose the S3233 is the model that supersedes the AT797. It was sufficient for a full clean shave, without having to rush. The shaver itself feels solid enough and isn’t too heavy, with a clever little design where not only are the blades flexible, but the entire head.

I hope this can help others like me, who do not want to spend a lot of money in an electric shaver, but don't want to risk going for less established brands just to save 20GBP (which, as shown and in the long run, is not a significant save). Item arrived on timeBut the prob is its not UK mains plus it EU and there is no adapter to it very disappointed i am traveling next day so no time to get adapter / battery is dead on the shaver cant even use it untill i come backIts not mentioned on amazon selling page that it is NOT UK plud The shave itself is pretty good, I mean it’s never going to be razor close but it’s not bad at all.

This is a small thing, and it probably tells you in the description, but it is frustrating if you don’t have the shaver adapter to plug into when you get it. I am afraid this happens with all electric shavers: they will never give "that clean" shaving. This is by no means the top of the Philips shavers range, but it’s a great little shaver.

First shave was on 10th of October. (I paid £59:99 instead of £120, which I would not pay)I’ve always considered both Philips and Braun (which is the one I replaced originally after years of faithful use) shavers to be the best around, if somewhat over priced. Rating it a five stars (One star) so anyone who wants to purchase this will see and know the plug is 2 pin and not 3 pin.

I’ll admit my previous purchase was based on price, but when the old cheaper shaver had issues and I saw this on offer at half the usual price, I jumped at the opportunity. The media could not be loaded. It’s no thills no spills, with the only things you get in the box being the shaver and a bag for storage - no accessories as the head is fixed.

Speaking of charging, the reason I dropped one star is that the charger cable is a standard shaver 2 pin plug (see pic) that required a shaver adapter plug, and not a standard 3 pin plug or a usb connection. I'm sure it would have been a great product, unfortunately I can't even use it. I believe it is advertised the battery should last for 60 minutes, which is about right if not a bit better (I'd reckon it takes me 4 to 5 minutes for a full clean shave). The AT797 lasted 4 years and started malfunctioning all too sudden, I believe due to the damage in the sealents.
