It does a fair job and is ok for a beginner, but I feel it would be aggravating for a serious artist. I don't usually find the need to review products I've purchased on Amazon. In conjunction with this I also used charcoal transfer paper, so that I could draw a design on a piece of paper and then use the charcoal transfer to put my clean drawing onto the pumpkin. Now if i could just find more assortments of different blades or maybe a loop to lock into this bad boy then I would be in heaven!

I know, I know. If the vendors could give me a rating based strictly on my reliability to leave a review, I would have negative stars! I love this tool. This is *the* tool to use for carving pumpkins, I only just did a small pumpkin for practice and this is what my first design came out as!

The cutters are sharp and the types are adequate. So I want anyone who's thinking about using this to know it is amazing! I have 3 sets and use them for carving detailed features on linoleum mosaics I create.

This is my second set, as the metal chuck wore out and would no longer hold the blades tightly on my first set. 1 V shaped cutter or a full replacement, since I like this brand (I just really need that cutter). Dead chuffed at how much control and sharpness these give. I would recommend this product!

I recommend you go watch some videos to get an idea of how to use the tool, as the assembly instructions are not included in the box. I know how to etch glass, and have tools just for that. It is easy to use even for a beginner. The product is great, easy to use, the sharpness of the blades are great, and the tool comes with a place to store the blades.

I'll be asking for a replacement No. Also, the cap for the storage in the handle often comes unscrewed.
