The whole machine feels a lot snappier than before, more so than I expected. As someone who games as well as uses their computer for productivity this is a great processor. Super chuffed with this, reckon I`ve got another 4-5 years on this build now, probably longer!

99! I`ve created this review for people, like myself, considering updating an older Ryzen CPU for this end phase of the Ryzen 4 chipset. Overall: The AMD Ryzen 9 5900X Processor is a true marvel of technology, offering an incredible blend of power and efficiency. It shares the same high TDP as the 5900x/5950X (the 5600X is lower) and features a single CCD meaning no latency issues as there isn't a second CCD to communicate with.

Well, no worries on that front at all, as you can see from the pictured CPUBenchmark results, the upgrade in performance is significant. All 8 cores on the CCD are active so it will run a little hotter than other models in the range as all the heat generation is within a single CCD, so make sure you're using a good cooler to get maximum performance.

A surprisingly good upgrade from a R5 3600 for me (using a 4070). Those 8 cores and 16 threads handle multitasking like a champ.

Without any effort in 'traditional' overclocking methods I find this easily boosts to 4. 8 GHz ensures snappy performance even during demanding tasks. Compatibility: It's important to ensure your motherboard is compatible with this CPU, as it requires an AM4 socket and a BIOS update on some motherboards to work at its full potential.
