Taylor's masterful storytelling is on fine display in this twisty thriller, deftly told from the perspective of three different women. The build up of tension starts early on and never lets go. Fran books herself onto his upcoming retreat – the first since his release – will she escape the retreat alive? I was engaged from the the beginning.

The story alternates between two time periods, the retreat two years ago when Jenna was last seen, gradually revealing what happened there and then in present day, where Tom has just been released from prison and Fran has booked herself on to his next wellness retreat in a bid to discover truth of what happened to her sister. I bought this book the moment it became available on Kindle, and while still only 30% in, I then bought the hard back too. There is a dual storyline of past and present which is always a firm favourite of mine as your only given enough information so your mind goes into overdrive. The sibling rivalry forced onto the sisters by an overbearing mother, and that overwhelming feeling that the other sibling is the favoured child, while you are considered the family disappointment, must have built such thick walls between Fran and Jenna, it was no wonder they weren’t the best at communication.
