The game also glows in the dark under UV light which adds some atmosphere to the game. This plays a lot like the decision process of the Lost Expedition game, do you allow yourself to lose a health to progress further or hold on a little longer before progressing? )With the expansions you can really modify the game to make it easier or harder, you can if you have another game like The Lost Expedition, use the health tokens from that game and play Sub Terra with 7 - 11 Characters/Players, just take away a hazard card for each additional player/Character that you use in game, the turns are quick only seconds in length if you know what you want to do, part of the co-operation in the game is talking it out as if you were in a cave, do you split up cover more ground or stay closer together so you can assist each other more easily? The game developers really put their heart into making this game happen.
The quality of the game pieces are some of the best I've seen in any board game solid character boards and tiles. You really have to work together as a team to survive (If players go at it alone they can find themselves in a situation where they cannot get back to the team or others cannot get to them to help. The Expansions add more variety for example the first game can be the cavers journey into the cave and the second game can be the rescue mission to save the characters that didn't make it out the 1st time, getting the actual figures is not necessary as they are so big they do not really fit on the tiles unless they are spread out, you can't tell what tile they are on otherwise.
