Our three year old enjoys helping Squirrel to build her snowman, lifting the flaps to find the hidden items she needs. He thought about his own rhyming words and read some of the high frequency words as well as sounded out some words. The words and pictures bring the story to life, then the flaps add another dimension. My 2 year old and 5 year old are captivated by this book!

I shall be buying a few for Christmas as they are gorgeous. The illustrations are colourful and whimsical, and the book is sturdy and very good quality. The book is beautifully illustrated with lots of fun details like the acorns on Squirrel's bed and the acorn on his mug!

They are 17 months old, I would say the perfect age to enjoy this story! The story features some of our favourite characters squirrel and mole. So many sub stories can be created from the amazing title to keep kids hooked for a long time. Check out Cat's Cookbook too.

As ever Julia Donaldson has a lovely little rhyming story this time based on building a snowman. It was a little hard to open the interactive parts when the book is new. It's certainly made our little one excited for winter - she keeps asking if it will snow today as she wants to build a snowman too.
