My advice is to just rub a wet sponge over yourself and apply like moisturiser, pat yourself with a towel and leave to develop overnight. Cons:- It does take about 24hrs (maybe a bit less) for the colour to fully develop, so be patient- it’s very thick and I find I go through it much faster than other tans, gradual or regular- biggest con is that it’s just too subtle for my preference. I am paler than pale. This is only after one use and love it, no gross ran smell either because you rinse it off quickly

It also leaves no fake tan scent whatsoever, and the coverage is very even. if it was darker, I might be willing to overlook how fast this gets used up because it’s perfect in a lot of ways, but in my opinion it’s not a medium tan.
