"FEAR ME, O WEATHER FIENDS, FOR I WIELD THE BANE OF THINE EXISTENCE! I've only had it for a few days, but I've already gotten compliments on it (and the occasional weird look). I was very impressed with the quality of this brolly. But from the rear view , it just looks like a brolly with a cool handle.

enjoy! One thing that I have noticed is that the balance of the umbrella makes it go to the side a bit, so I sometimes bump when going through doors and stuff.

Let's face it - if you wanted to carry a sword stick type weapon , you would buy one totally disguised as an umbrella. I am 60 years old by the way and prefer to grow old as disgracefully as possible! Practise will easily find the best position for balance and carrying. and living in Seattle, I'm sure gonna put it to good use.

I have recently updated this comment to show how i have customised my brolly collection to make the handles more realistic. the umbrella is COOL! It doesn't look "unswordy" to wear it that way, so I don't really mind, but I'm thinking about putting something heavy on the bottom of the sheath so as to counter the weight of the handle.

This means that looking from the front , the desired effect happens! I haven't had any bad experiences so far with it.

You might feel wary while walking around carrying it on your shoulder while it is in its case, so it was easy to make a strap from an old laptap bag and use two small luggage label straps for each end of it, thus ditching the case and making the brolly more visible. This is just an umbrella that looks like a sword.
