Mrs R Hammond
. The house with its windows like big eyes overlooking beautiful sandy beaches and the sunshine reflecting off the house in summer. I enjoyed learning a bit more about the Islands history through Imogen’s writing as I didn’t know anything about the Island before reading.

And I hope one day to have the pleasure of an invitation (which I’d definitely accept! Thank you for sharing it with us 🥂 I loved the family tradition of the parties they had on the beach every Christmas, jumping in and out of the crashing waves and around the campfire until the early hours of the morning. Relatable from the start and characters we all know, there are beautiful British beaches, Venice, negroni, Champagne, London, complex family relationships, fabulous parties, life, loves and a lesbian liaison.

Imogen is an author/playwright, a daydreamer. A confused and emotional girl turns up to threaten Rachel’s marriage. While this is not a book that holds big surprises, what it does have is an emotional hold, an evocative setting that sweeps you onto its shore, characters that cover an entire range of feelings and beautiful writing.

Complex, multi-faceted women who are utterly believable on every page. I loved this story and how all the characters interacted differently with one another.
