Will the friends be the heroes the Wonderscape really needs? Players meet characters we know, including Mary Shelley and Isaac Newton, and Bell also fleshes out the legendary Tomoe Gozen and makes up some ‘future’ heroes too (teaching tip: it’s great to think about what constitutes a hero). For fans of #TheWorldBetweenBlinks and #TheGrandestBookshopInTheWorld and #WednesdayWeeks - this one has the historical adventure and the riddles/gameplay you love. That’s what I would have gone with, anyway.

I’m willing to bet that #JenniferBell pitched this middle grade adventure as ‘Tron, but for history nerds’. He particularly enjoyed the Realm Adventures - they were fun to read and he regularly gave me updates about the historical worlds they were in so ticked some educational boxes for me too!
He described it as a 5 star excellent adventure story. Book two (called Legendarium) is released in a few months, and I am keen! Arthur, Ren and Cecily get sucked hundreds of years forward into an in-reality (as opposed to virtual reality) adventure game called Wonderscape.
Hey #MediaTeachers, there’s also a little online game to check out at wonderscapebook. Bought to challenge my 10 year old to take a break from gaming and he read it all the way to the end without nagging so I would definitely recommend!
