You can feel yourself being led in one direction, confident in your 'detecting skills' only to have the proverbial rug pulled from beneath you, setting you foolishly off in another direction. This was expertly done and I honestly enjoyed each of the characters pov's equally.

But what could possibly go wrong? A hike in the Norwegian mountains sounds like a dream come true for Liz, the group’s organizer, but not everyone is as keen as she is to tackle such a high mountain in an isolated location! Once things really got going I couldn’t put the book down I needed to know what the outcome was going to be. The story is told across multiple POV and contains a clever twist that leaves you reeling.

The latter part of the book the pace is unrelenting and becomes a life or death situation for our heroines. Lucy Clarke is a great author. I enjoyed the rugged setting of the forest and mountains (I do love a book set in the wilderness) and the struggles they have to overcome. I loved the different POV’s from each of the four women and Leif.

The Hike" takes you on a thrilling journey, both through the wilds of Norway and the depths of human nature. While I thoroughly enjoyed the suspense and breathtaking scenery, I wished for a bit more closure in the end.
