As a personal trainer I highly recommend this book out of all books to start and progress a weight training fitness program. I’m 5’5 150kg woman and I’m 6 weeks into his suggested beginner routine. If it was good enough for Eddie Hall it was good enough for me. Most of the exercises are in the sagittal plane, and since it was written in 1987 with most of the photos being from the 1970's, there are no kettlebells, bosu balls or funtional training.

Make sure I’ve got enough carbs in tank also pre workouts. This book is truly the Bible of Fitness and I cannot recommend this book enough to anyone wanting to begin or continue their bodybuilding journey. Also, my strength has definitely increased and my range of workouts drastically varied and improved since I began to study this book.

I’ve had to look up more modern diet advice but I’m really impressed with build in my lats, shoulders and triceps and also I’m starting to get biceps in a way I never have had before. Great book! This is the best book out there still and a must for anyone wanting to understand basics of body building and wanting to see a change in their physique. This book, produced by the international king of bodybuilding, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is the most comprehensive book on the subject available on the market.

Bought as a present for someone else - Arrived with unknown sticky substance on front cover - wiped off with a damp sponge but left a dull patch. The best thing is that it breaks down each major body part into useful easy to follow instructions and photos that anyone can make relavant to their own goals. ( the Bible for any bodybuilder) but very unfortunate for the money I spent every other page the ink is barely visible , as you can see in my photos even the pictures one is faded and one isn’t and every other page is like this where the words are barely readable! I read so many muscle boys / strong men saying this was how they started.
