It might feel like fighting against the tide but if enough people try we might get somewhere. From that point on I cannot stop seeing the millions of ways people, particularly children are bombarded with gendered messages and stereotyping. I have been very interested in the subject of gender conditioning since last year when I took this photo at Morrisons. Didn't seem good financial sense.

Together with blog posts it really highlights the extraordinary way boys and girls are treated differently and how this is a situation in which nobody wins. I stood there and thought how funny it was that they had two signs saying 'toys' right next to each other. .

And suddenly the wool was pulled completely from my eyes. I recommend for anyone with children or knows anyone with them. This book is an excellent collection of observations originally collated on a Twitter account.
