About this deal
Based around a fantastic base recipe of juniper, cardamom, orris root, Angelica root and coriander to name a few. Not subtle, nor never meant to be. We are sure Mary Berry would approve. A Gin & Tonic made with a . Swap out the vodka in your lemon drop, or better yet swap out the rum in your mojito. Each bottle possesses a distinguished aesthetic and takes effort to note the provenance and variety of the wheat used. . This lemony gin was originally only sent out as part of Sipsmith's quarterly Sipping Service, but proved so popular that it's now part of their regular range. This recipe takes a classic London Dry backbone and layers on sweet, sun-dried lemon peels, lemon verbena for aromatic sweetness on the nose and vapour infused fresh hand peeled lemon for sharp bite and floral notes to dial up the spritz.

I wasn't expecting it to be so nice. I mixed it with Lemonade which is my normal mixer of choice. My drink of choice is normally Ciroc or other flavoured vodkas. We’ve had a couple of tasting nights this weekend to see how this limited, hand-crafted Gin was received.

The media could not be loaded. Overall, I think we agree that this can depends on what you mix with it – cocktails went down better than straight mixes as it can be a little heavy without anything to temper it, in some cases it was described as sophisticated and in others a little overpowering – but every palate tends to have its own preferences hence trying with different blends and flavour mixers.

What I can say is this tastes lovely. Today (Saturday) we made up a martini style drink with a coffee liqueur Sipspresso coffee gin and a little syrup (though less than the serving suggestion) – I declined a full glass as I am not into that type of drink – but did have a quick taste which I did not really enjoy as it was a bit thick and sugar is not my thing, it did however go down very well with the others! I had a mixer with soda water because anything too sweet like lemonade will be too overpowering with sweetness for me and lose the berry gin flavours.

This is a quality Gin. It would be perfect for a summer's day. Now the important part, the taste. Would also make a lovely quality gift being such a lovely bottle.

She tried it neat, and with tonic, first but found it was too bitter and peppery for her without using a sweet mixer. They both had a Coffee and Ginger Spritz per the suggestion and again it was very well received, saying the ginger and cold brew brought the flavours out very well and that was their favourite to date. There's plenty of fruity flavours and it's really refreshing.
