The bow does require some assembly and requires a small screw driver, but trust me if I can do it then anyone can. The plastic is so high quality that I thought it was metal at first. The bow comes with 3 sucker darts. I was suprised at the high quality of the bow, it's made of a very sturdy plastic with metal features.

My nine year old son can't get enough of the sureshot handbow. The darts come out with a lot of force so just be careful when using.
