Fixing it to the wooden frame of the velux was quick and easy. The peace of mind it gives is priceless Used these to stop the window blowing open. The length is just long enough to allow the cat to go outside without giving too much space to allow the dog in.

Do advise drilling pilot hole before screws but other than that only took a couple of minutes to install. This is a real problem solver for me, i recently moved from a flat to a house, i have 2 cats who now enjoy going in the garden, as i have composite doors its been a real problem finding someone to fit a cat flap, these secure my window and leave a gap just big enough for my cats, iv never used a drill in my life, so when i say easy to install, even a novice like me managed it, also good that they come with 2 different types of screws as the normal screws did not even make a dent in my window frame, but the other weird shaped ones when in nice The only negative I could find was that there were only 1 key per lock and the key-smiths near me cannot duplicate another set for me as they don’t keep similar keys at hand.
