I've become a big Jinhao fan. I didn't know how it was going to write, so pleasant surprise. Every single one of my pens writes smoothly without skipping and suffers no hard starts, even when I use shimmer inks, which are notorious for their power to clog even the fanciest pen feeds. They are a good low budget option.

These Jinhao 82 pens work fine. They are lightweight since they’re mostly plastic and the EF and F nibs almost look similar.

Plus, recommend this ink for a highlight proof option. I'm a true Fan girl. This purple color is so gorgeous I don’t even want to use any other pen ever lol. These pens have excellent smooth nibs, with a bit of line thickness variation between the F and the EF, as you can see in my photos.

Jinhao never lets me down. Still very usable, and given that I bought the red primarily for red ink to use in correcting / editing drafts, these will work, but I personally would not find these to be favorites for long writing sessions. I own dozens of Jinhao pens (as well as dozens of high end fountain pens, mentioned here not for bragging rights but to establish credibility :-). But the are really small, especially as compared to the Jinhao 9019 (larger pens in picture).
