The smell is very strong so gloves, masks and old clothes are recommended First one I ordered Creocote arrived as advertised. Went on better and had better coverage with a three inch fence brush than a 4inch one for some reason got around half a board with the 4 inch and 3/4 of a board with the 3 inch despite the 4 inch soaking up a lot more stain. Much better than the water based ducksback stuff, will last longer and do a half decent job of repelling water and keeping the rot away.

I used a small brush as the product very runny but by putting some in a small container and painting with a small brush prevented less dripsI also put cardboard on the ground to soak up any spills That goes on black but dries to a much nicer brown. 4 stars because it does dry quite a bit lighter than when you first put it on. I’m thrilled with the finish and prefer it to ordinary fence paint colours as the wood grain still shows through.

no rain 24 hours before or after painting. I ordered a second one and a different product arrived. I needed more than the recommended coverage suggested, however, it was easy to use with a three inch paintbrush, had a pleasant odour ( although I wore a mask) and has given the dry, natural wood a beautiful dark patina ( I used the light brown).

I put some on in very light showers with no issue however on another day I painted a section and heavier showers and it washed away some of the colour leading to a re-coat. Good colour: Brings out the natural grain of the wood.

The product is very good at staining wood as well as treating it and is very water resistant. It also seems to have killed grass where it ran off the paint boards so potentially lethal stuff. I imagine it will be the same stuff but different product than what I ordered? Used this product to paint my back garden fence.

first time in eight years so the wood soaked it up! Also being oil based, pot and brushes easy to clean with liquid detergent. Coverage: Bought 2 4 litre tubs and covered around 68m2 (1 coat) of fence and have a around a litre left.
