My Nikkor 55-300mm is great at the short end (indoors), but isn't sharp at all at the long end and has a lot of nasty CA. I am using this with a Nikon D90 and I'm really really pleased with the results.

I tend to up the ISO to 400 or 800 to ensure decent shutter speed. While heavier than my other lenses, it isn't as back-breakingly heavy as some people seem to make out in reviews. I am used to doing a lot of post processing but I am delighted with the photos directly out of camera ( i have posted a few images above). I have used it for nature photography and it works very well - giving sharp images of animals that would never get that near to you.

Most reviews are based on some mindless comparison between this and lenses of 10x its cost. Very happy with this purchase.

They are nowhere near the build quality or image quality of this lens, I would definitely recommend this 150-500mm lens to any outdoor photographers looking for a tele, but don't expect similar quality in Sigma's other lenses. Shame about the weather. I'm really looking forward to using this lens more.

The stabilisation is somewhat more noisy than my 55-300mm Nikkor, but it is also a lot better (although as with Nikkors, you do lose some sharpness when using stabilistaion). This lens also performs nicely indoors, for headshots.

My first session with the lens showed it was very easy to use and produced high quality crisp images in less than perfect lighting conditions on a grey English winter afternoon. I ordered this and received it just a day later despite opting for the 5 day free delivery. I have to use a mono pod as I have a weak right shoulder. Hopefully i'll post some great Puffin pics soon.
