Registering for an account was painful and I had to restart it several times because it kept hanging. Winner: Occulus4. The Occulus Go comes with sound built in and that’s a real god send.

I had the Rift S about 3 years ago and whilst I was impressed with it by the time I had got a laptop capable of running it the cost was over £1500. I was downloading stuff from the Oculus store to my Go within ten minutes of taking it out of the box. I downloaded the app from the app store on my Android phone and set up was a question of linking with the Rift by bluetooth and then setting it up on your wireless network.

Great VR unitTotally standalone you don't need a pc or console to playWatching movies is like being at the cinema with a massive screenGaming is great especially a game called Bait a really fun cartoony fishing game where you actually cast out and catch some interesting thingsSound is excellent you think you have headphones on its that good and you can plug any standard headphones in for privacy or a good horror game or movieJurassic world blue seeing a t rex stand over me in full 3d was just wow you have to try that! the Dead and Buried app has given me all the shoot 'em up I will ever need, and I'm discovering new stuff all the time. the spacial placement is just as good. it’s not unusable grainy but as long as you realise you’re not looking at a computer monitor and a TV screen then it is passable and won’t interfere with the viewing pleasure.

the Occulus app is terrible to get set up. It might not be 6DOF but experiences like Hardlight Blade and Virtual Virtual Reality are amazing at hiding the 3DOF nature of the controller. Great for watching movies. Yes the HTC has a very good spatial placement system for it’s hand controller.
