I drilled the hole about 1/4 inch deep right in the middle of the bully stick. Today I tried drilling the hole a bit deeper and wider than I needed, so when the knob was all the way down, the screw was still in the bully stick but not touching it tightly, basically the bully stick could spin freely without wiggling the screw loose or falling out. Love the bully stick holder.

Yes they are a wee bit expensive but if you really want a good holder buy this one you won't be disappointed. Update 1: After letting each of my dogs chew on the bully sticks all day I only had 1 bully stick fall out just once, instead of many times before I drilled the hole. I was going to try that but if the screw ever came loose and fell out that could be real dangerous. I do think the twist handle on the side could use some improvements like if there was rubber on the inside to help prevent it from loosening on its own.
