An incident leads to Juniper stealing her friend’s manuscript and the whole story begins. I really disliked June, she was so selfish and thought about herself and never about anyone else. With such flawed and complexed characters, and such powerful themes and commentary, Kuang challenge readers and evokes so many feelings.

The ending didn’t go how I expected it to. Kuang earlier in the year so when I saw that “Yellowface” had been published a few months later, I knew I’d have to get my hands on a copy! F. Imagine the scene in Washington DC, where two young writers, Athena Liu and Juniper Hayward, have very different paths.

100% recommended. When Athena dies in an accident, June takes it upon herself to steal Athena’s unpublished work and send it out into the world under her own name, well, a new name (Juniper Song).

Hella roller coaster I loved learning more about the publishing industry from this book. It’s a must read novel. I picked this book up on a recommendation and was immediately sucked into the story and haven’t been able to put it down since.
