Bought these in an attempt to prevent the same happening and they are doing the job well. Good quality product.

Top marks for these carpet savers. First photo is the carpet saver in place & second photo is where I have lifted the sofa leg - you can just see where the spikes have settled into the carpet pile but no real flat spot in the carpet after 2 months. The marks left in the carpet by the spikes are easily brushed away (see 'before/after' picture).

A quick rub over the pile and there's no trace. 5mm. Highly recommended

9cm across (see picture with coins). Happy with them so far. The lip around the top of the cups prevents the furniture legs from sliding off. The pile of the carpet in the pictures is 0.

The width of the cup (that can fit the leg of a piece of furniture) is 4. After moving our sofa we had solid flat spots in our carpet - had to resort to the ice cube treatment and they're still not fully recovered.
