There is a good selection of pictures to choose from and there is a picture on both sides of the sheet. To make things better the book comes with 5 double sided colouring pencils (10 colours) already so you don’t need anything else to get you started. My 11 year old granddaughters were in heaven and they were quiet for days colouring away. The designs vary from reasonably simple drawings to really intricate ones that would probably only be suited for older children or adults but there is a good selection to fit varying age ranges and so I would think anyone older than 6 would find something of interest in the book.

My granddaughters laminated a few finished pictures so they could appreciate both sides and they framed one for their wall. My 11 daughter adore the patterns, they are very up to date with what bigger kids like nowadays: mandalas, floral patterns, unicorns, pineapples and other fruits, arrows, owls, shoes, rainbows, icecream, sweets, cameras, feathers, geometric patterns… all very cute and designed beautifully (see attached images). My one niggle is that all of the drawings are not single sided as this means if you are using pens that seep through the pages you will lose a drawing on the opposite side. The paper is quite thick, not thin like in other colouring books, almost like a thin card.

The paper is a decent thickness and all pages are perforated at the edges for ease of removing from the book if wished. The book comes with 5 double sided pencils which are a reasonable standard and fine for colouring with but obviously they are not the same standard as the more expensive watercolour and adult colouring pencils that are about in abundance at the moment. The few pages of "how to" at the front are genuinely helpful with guidance how to blend colours, pick colour schemes and use different effects. A really good book with some great designs including some mandala style pictures and the only reason I have deducted a star from my marking is that the pages are not single sided.

Perfect for travel. They enjoyed this set so much I will be buying them their own for Christmas. The edges are perforated for ease of removing from the book. There are also postcard style drawings in the book which can be pulled out and sent when completed in addition to the normal drawings and most pages are double sided so care will need to be taken if using gel pens or markers as these may seep through the pages.
