It's a really lovely book and I'm happy and excited to have this story of hope in my daughters book collection. The book is also a good conversation starter with a child if you want to discuss refugees. A 5 star read from me. We particularly enjoyed the large pictures with lots of details in.

I've not really done it justice there and there's more to it that I don't want to spoil. Zara loves her garden and tends it carefully, helped by her many friends. Quite honestly I've never come across a children's book like this before. Time passes, the war ends and the children return home—but how has the garden fared?

I hope to see more books from this exciting new pair! The Last Garden by Rachel Ip and Anneli Bray is a beautiful story of hope, recovery, and healing. The basic plot is that Zara tends to the last garden in a war torn city, the garden is a beacon of hope for all that come across it. She has many helpers who seek solace by helping her in her garden.
