About this deal
Paperback
Forage In Spring is not a harking back to some naive, romantic vision of how we might once have lived. What a great find! An invaluable addition to any forager, herbalist, gardener, horticulturist or naturalist's library, providing plant-lovers with a much-needed resource to understanding nature's most useful wild plants. Instead, these plants' stories are a way to help you sense into the future and understand our ecological function (as a species) within the world. Linda's interest in rare species began in 1976 with her MSc thesis on rare and endangered Canadian plants. Perfect for a quick gift for anyone. The act of taking wild food and medicine into our body, that in time becomes so transformative. As our society becomes ever more disconnected, there is a revivalist movement flourishing like a rhizome. Plants have stories that reconnect us to the Land and the rest of Nature.
- How and when to harvest each plant
- Which parts to use and how to prepare them
- Tips for eating and preserving.
- Where to find edible plants

Also available upon proof of reciept is a photo identification guide as there are no images in the book itself. Author is very helpful and will send you the photo identification guide when following the instructions in the book. I’m finding the book really helpful.

Definite buy for anyone looking to live closer to the land Well worth every penny. I love this book and always take it with me on walks, along side the ID photo guide downloaded on my phone which came free with the book, both are invaluable for every forager. The author also has a regular newsletter with seasonal information.

A book that is indispensable for the British forager, and what is even better is that each plant is supported by many colour photographs on Robin's website, ready to download. It's big enough that it contains all the info you need without taking up all your bag space! Would really recommend. This book has so much information in it.

10 out of 10. However it is written in such a way that it is not a drag to read or difficult to get through.
