Without a Drain Tool they can be a real pain to get out to replace. This tool as seen in the photos is very well made, even looks really cool. Also, given that the tool is constructed of die-cast aluminum, even though the product page says "You can use it like a hammer for simple fixed percussion," I don't think that is advisable. I used in combination an adjustable wrench and a screwdriver inserted in the hole of the tool to even the force applied.

The tool also survived showing little sign of deformation. After about an hour I finally decided to rotate it clockwise and counterclockwise and eventually the drain showed me mercy and I could turn the tool more and more until eventually I could fully rotate it counterclockwise and off it went. then corroded drain loose. I applied force slow but hard while keeping an eye on any tool deformation.

Seems every time I find myself needing a drain tool I just never took the time to purchase one. The tool weighs less than you might think - only 8. The other end fits the same drain cover except for sinks.

I am a DIYer that performs any and all upgrades or repairs on my home and my daughters home. At one point I was even contemplating just cutting it. Use a screwdriver as a lever to turn it.

It was getting scary as the drain cross member was deforming but luckily it didn't break off. I was a little cautious how it will hold up after seeing people break theirs like crackers.

The small end of the tool fit our kitchen sink drain properly. 9 ounces. Very handy tool to keep in your plumbing tool box. My tub drain was really stuck on since the plumber let the plumbing putty get on the threads.

The media could not be loaded. Very handy tool for removing and replacing a bathtub drain. This tool makes removing that drain cover very easy.
