certainly for a beginner to the tenor. However, if you are simply buying a recorder for your child's school recorder lessons this one is more than adequate and you won't be disappointed. The 6th hole is also slightly smaller than the Yamaha making it easier to seal/cover.

My two-year old can manage the finger spacings and is now having a meaningful go at covering some holes. 03oz) and definitely feels much heavier and more cumbersome to hold . This recorder comes with a yellow drawstring case, a cleaner and a little music book to follow.

The sound is precise, accurate and can be as loud or quiet as you make it, it is very pleasant on the ear. Out of curiosity, I measured the respective finger spans necessary to reach all the holes for the 211 and all the holes and the key for the 311 and discovered that, in fact, they are nearly identical at about 9 or 9. This means 1/ less volume (especially for the lower notes) 2/ less breath required 3/ a restricted tone that is somewhat breathy/husky.
