Visually the thermostat looks very good and is clear and easy to control, however you need to read the manual to understand how to use it. On your way back as long as it's before 22:30 set it to Auto again, it's that simple.

As its so cold out side and this is an old house and is generally cold anyway I leave the heating on all day as there is always someone here at some stage in the day time. I fitted this today and it took me about an hour and a half including all the wiring and the WiFi setup. I have an open vent Y plan heating system with a Vaillant eCoTech Plus boiler. The Salus RF Vaillant plug in boiler controller that you can buy will NOT work on an open vent system.

This will shut off the rads during the day upstairs in the bedrooms when no one is using them, so should help save some money. An app is used to controls the heating and hot water and this works well also however as others have said it could do with some improvement.
