While this bike rack looks great and although a bit fiddly to put together seems to be pretty solid. The bolt also sits quite high but I have finally managed to get the lock back over it.
However, the adapter was really tricky to connect to this plug and after getting Halfords to try two different adapters (neither I nor the member of staff could fit them) I thought I would take it away and skim off the little bobbles. Securing it to your tow bar requires a hefty spanner and basically screwing it to the towbar, so quick and easy attachment!
The bar is big though, whereas some models the tilt mechanism is tiny. The bikes went on really easily and the tilting bar works extremely well, although for some it may be a bit heavy. . The other problem I had is that it has a 13 pin plug so I need the adapter to turn it into a 7 pin plug.
! and I didn’t notice until the VERY END! Once set up this is a great carrier and has kept my bikes nice and safe.
It’s marked down because of the screwing pin and fiddly plug but otherwise a brilliant purchase! After looking at my sisters adapter for her plug I somehow managed to fit mine on, so basically, it does go on with lots of fiddling and a bit of brut force. I have found THE major issue which no one seems to have mentioned.
