Knowing that Lyra McKee was murdered before she could finish the book that forms part of this collection is heartbreaking. But this stands alone in terms of quality even without that context. A mix of her earlier less-known pieces, extracts from the book she was writing when she died, and her most famous essays, this book is wonderful and evocative.
Highly recommended. She allows you to see her childhood growing up as a 'Ceasefire Baby' in Northern Ireland, how the conflict shaped those who didn't live through it, yet live with its aftermath.
