The main character gets to see what life would be like if he never existed and he does not like what he sees. I throughly enjoyed this book, and highly recommend it. It has a perfect amount of magic, not over the top, but very necessary and mysterious. This book is a fun and easy read.
I really like how he apologizes to the principal and teachers at school (see picture)***The beginning made me a little upset with how awful the main character (Maxwell) was acting, but it had a purpose and fit into the story perfectly. “I wish I’d never been born” (page 70). ***Spoilers: The book concludes with him figuring out how exist in his world again and apologizing to everyone.
Everything is different: school, family, and most importantly his dog! I think this would be an excellent read for any child going through a tough time (especially divorce) or has a friend who is going through a tough time.
It is about a boy who gets into trouble and one day, after really messing things up for his entire school, wishes he never existed.
