About this deal

You can connect with local tribal bodies like the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde and organizations working directly with native communities, such as NARA or NAYA. Nigel Slater shares his love of winter, the scent of fir and spruce, ghost stories read with a glass of sloe gin, and beeswax candles with shadows dancing on the ceiling. Nigel Slater’s new book will have everything you need to prepare for and survive winter, from a rundown of Europe’s Christmas markets and which books to read and films to watch, to where to go for a winter break and what candles to buy. Nigel Slater Christmas Chronicles We recognize that while their communities remain displaced, we benefit today from their historic stewardship of the region. With recipes, decorations, fables and quick fireside suppers, he guides us through the essential preparations for Christmas and the New Year, from 1 November all the way to the end of January. And at the heart of the book are Nigel’s recipes, from quick fireside suppers to winter baking and marmalade making. Here are legends and folktales, myths and memoir, all told in Nigel’s warm and intimate signature style.

Reviews

A

I hope you found this review helpful. The first 25 pages are short chapters on aspects of winter which are written to make the reader feel emotive and share Nigel’s passion for mid-winter. Quite possibly my favourite book to date. I really love this book.

This book is designed to be taken out around Christmas and feel magical. Nigel Slater’s ‘The Christmas Chronicles’ feels like a magical hymn for Christmas. I personally like it as a pick up and read book, diving into small sections and enjoying his take on the winter months.
