Very well-designed tool, and works really well - I'm very pleased with it. ) Capped just as quickly as that of our quince, privet and ornamental laurel hedges and with the latter, cutting was so easy that my husband made it in half the original time, because the annoying climbing and descending of the ladder was no longer necessary.

My trimmer came with about 10m of black cable and a standard UK 3-pin plug; it also has an Einhell UK sticker (see first photo that I've attached), so it looks as if the UK importers are customising it for the UK market. I've attached another photo that shows the square drive mechanism - a little blurred, but you should get the general idea.

After we posted here, Einhell contacted us and we have been sent a replacement trimmer. . The first idea of leaning a longer ladder against the shrub quickly fell out of safety considerations (it would have stood on uneven ground), so we looked at Amazon for a hedge trimmer with a rod or a telescopic extension. The (quite detailed) operating instructions would not actually have been necessary, as the functions and the control buttons are basically self-explanatory.

Great service from Einhell in Denmark and Amazon. There was an issue with one of the brackets that attach the poles to each other, I emailed the seller and they posted out a replacement which I got the next day, and I live near John O Groats! My husband had to “do gymnastics” on a stepladder and operate the (relatively) heavy garden tool with one hand in order to reach even the outermost branches.
