For me its main use is birding, so I was doubtful if 8x42 would be enough. The ED glass works quite well, CA is well controlled, and clarity is outstanding.

The bundled straps are crap, I changed it out to a spare comfy camera strap instead. Really comfy to hold, not as comfy asI wished it would come in green (we received a black version). Incredible binocular!

Focus dial is smooth and offered just only a slightly stiff feel. As you will see in the photos, I also have a Chinese 10x60 binocular and the objects are much closer, but the equipment is heavy and it is difficult to find species in movement, like birds. Please consider in the photos that my hand is small, that's why I included so measurements with a ruler.

Compared to a Monarch 5, it's really hard to tell the difference in terms of optics. Instead, these celestron binoculars solved both problems, as well as displaying a sharp image, without chromatic aberration.
