A glorious 5 stars from me…indeed I’d give it more if I could! The 2018 story is not quite so edge of the seat, but is a delightful story of a woman and her carer, and the approaching finale of a long life lived. Louise Morrish's extensive research on the SOE and wartime Britain and France shine through, and I had a most enjoyable history lesson in the reading as well as a thoroughly good read.

However, this is a dual timeline, so we venture between 2018 & 1944, and things in 2018 are as intriguing as the events that unfolded in 1944, so no matter which year it is, there is something that has you utterly invested. Heartbreaking & heartwarming, Laura Morrish has written a stunning debut historical novel. It's such a lovely debut novel, moving and enthralling, and such an important storyline to remind us of the courageous acts that helped bring the war to an end.

Thank you to the publishers for my advance copy of the book. I know I normally stick to crime fiction, as I’m obsessed with murder LOL, but I do love novels set during WW2, this has defiantly been one of my highlights of that genre.

However, as we discover more about Tali and her life and watch the beautiful relationship between Tali and Betty, I wanted to know what happened in both times equally. I happened across Operation Moonlight whilst looking at books on Amazon, once I read the premise, I knew I would want to read it.
