One of my pods failed to open at the bottom and poured water and the pod contents everywhere except for in the cup. This machine is not automatic so you have to stop it yourself, ( I look at the stream of coffee coming out and when it starts to look watery I stop the machine. Ok rant over now about the machine itself, it is a stylish sleek machine, about the width of a two slice toaster, fits easily under wall cabinets on the worktop.

The machine is fairly compact so does not take up too much space on the worktop. The coffee comes out lovely and flavoursome and there are many pod varieties.

) We mainly use the café au lait pods which are similar to a flat white with a foam on the top. It's pretty simple to clean and there are many more flavours of coffee pods available compared to Dolce Gusto's rival, Tassimo. Other than that I would definitely recommend it to others. The Dolce Gusto range are pod coffee machines, there is a plastic water reservoir which is filled and filtered through the pods which are placed in a tray which is then inserted into the machine, there is a switch on the top which allows selection of hot or cold water (depending on your make this may click automatically back to neutral when the "pour" is complete or you may need to decide manually, time it and stop it) and there is a drip tray which affixes to the machine beneath where the glass or cup will sit.

This is such a fantastic hot drinks dispenser. It cost a fortune to buy the machine and even more to buy the pods, it works out very expensive.

Would have given 5 stars but for the red lead. Nescafe opted not to honour the free samples despite the included paper work which stated once a register they will be sent. My only negatives would be the small water tank, which holds water for 3 drinks maximum and, as other reviewers have stated, the red cable power lead which could look unsightly if you are unable to hide it away. The machine is really easy to use, just slot pods in and fill the water container with water when needed.

This is a good price for this machine as it is for sale in Curry’s for much more. Easy to use and having tried six different flavours of the nescafe dolce gusto pods so far, have enjoyed them all.
