Lindsey Brogan
His growth as a character throughout the novel is beautifully portrayed, and readers will find themselves rooting for him at every turn. Here’s a mesmerizing tale where past is more alive than present itself.

Found it easy to follow and loved how each timeline was written. Fans of historical fiction, here’s a gem for you! With its atmospheric setting, well-drawn characters, and a storyline that seamlessly weaves together the past and present, this novel is a delightfully engrossing read. And the ghostly guidance of a dead mother appears in italics.

Dickensian descriptions juxtaposition with contemporary conversations, it is a mysterious, gothic ghost story spanning time and settings. The portrayal of Victorian England, the society, the mindset, and overall mood of that period is well-depicted through nurse Everdeen and her sacrifices and challenges showcase the resilience of the human spirit even in the darkest of times. What a brilliant story so brilliantly written.
It is descriptive, especially of physical appearances and of the cold comfort surroundings, as it interweaves the past and the present which is in first person narrative. Great characters that I just fell in love with and a dual timeline.
