At around eight years the plastic casing of the watch started to disintegrate. Apart from that good. Looked at it in August 2015 and amazingly not only is it still going but in the intervening 15 years or so the watch has gained a total of just 6 minutes 48 seconds.

OK, so I still have the original DW5600 G-Shock I bought in 1989. I wanted a watch that I can go fishing and camping without having to worry about taking it off. In the first ten years of its life it was badly treated, climbing, sea water etc.

The basic digital watch is all you need and want in a wrist watch. I stripped the remaining plastic off the watch to have a look at it "naked" and then put in a box of tat and forgot about it.
