The description of the characters is very good and I found the story emotional and quite touching at times. The story moves from her past to the present time, and gives an emotional account of her hard and lonely struggle with motherhood, addiction and pain. For Mary her past was difficult and ultimately she sacrifices who she could be for the love for her son. I would definitely recommend.

and grief and the consequences it leads it’s explores the addiction of drugs and the consequences of it and how you have to face the struggles that comes along with it. It's a heavy book in parts and moves between present day and the past.
This book is emotional and I felt empathetic towards Mary and her struggles she went through life. This is a very good read and my daughter loves it. Overall this is fantastic read and great price. Time weighs heavily on Mary.
Both need to know where they come from to understand who they are. It's a great debut. This book is so fraught with emotion.
‘Mother Mother’ is the debut novel by Annie MacManus that’s set in Belfast and tells of Mary’s experiences, her dysfunctional family while growing up, her pregnancy and unconditional love for TJ. Who they are today is shaped by the past.
Both Mary and her son TJ are looking for something. She needs to clear her mind, accept the past in order to move forward. The cover is bright and interesting, it would make me want to pick it up in a book store, and it’s the type of novel that I’ll want to read again in the future.
