They either looked cheap, or like they wouldn't last. I haven't noticed any problems with adjusting the microphone arms so far. 5 out of 5 stars

Good stuff, using with a Blue Yeti X To note is that not until I installed the stabiliser did this arm work correctly for me.

You can flip the mic up, but not all the way (more like an angle), creating some awkward re-positioning, similar to adjusting a monitor arm. In the end, despite the higher price, I chose Blue's swing arm because I like it better visually. I'm absolutely satisfied with the product. Having a blue microphone means you have to have a blue boom arm and this product doesn’t disappoint in its use!

Some even required drilling a hole into a desk to fit them, which sounded pretty unappealing! Since the clamp can be attached without the swivel arm already being inserted, this was no problem. The swivel arm is simply inserted into the foot and is then very stable.

Lastly: I have the Rode PSA1 and while it looks bad and has a loose connection at the base - it is by far more functional and it just works. Decent mic arm with great looks but has a disappointing range of movement. High quality materials, cable management is perfect, adjustable friction hinges for each of the pivot points, and If by any chance you have problem with the fine tuning, you can always tweak tension screw that is placed inside the base of the Compass.

Pros: Looks great. A touch too expensive in my opinion but overall very pleased with the stand and would recommend it to others. After adjsting and training it at the start it is now in the ideal location and can swing positions for different circumstances at a touch. I looked at adjustable desktop stands and cheaper boom arms, but they didn't look quite right.
