Been there, done that
My entire routing solution was as follows: I purchased the Dewalt 618 router package with the fixed and plunge bases. But I got tip from someone giving a class there, how to build my own simple cheaper table, until I was able to step up to the larger table. I may have the world's most portable routing setup.

Parts were clearly identified and order of assembly was superb. One thing’s for sure though, a router table adds a whole new dimension of capabilities in woodworking for practitioners at any level, and if you are going to buy one in this price range, I figure this one is a good choice. I decided to use the three 5Mx1. Lots of bad reviews on this one and I must admit I was almost one of them.
