Either way, the camera and mounting are still going strong, so updated to 5 stars. The plastic screw that holds the suction cup face to the mount has melted with now way to get it out and repair it! I 'stealthed out' my camera by sticking PVC tape over all the writing, colouring in the silver ring with a black marker pen and hiding the camera behind the rear-view mirror. I have left this camera in the car all year round so it has been exposed to some very high temperatures and nothing negative has happened to the dash camera at all!

It's not brain surgery to redesign the mount and I'm in the process of doing just that for my 512GW. You have to look for it to spot it most of the time though. But it would be fine for a normal softly suspended family balloon.

I've been in touch with the supplier who has supplied me with another mount saying "That this new mount looks the same but is much stronger". It can be seen on YouTube by adding /watch?

! Cons:- Occasional moments of compression artifacting (pixelated areas in picture) which can reduce detail/quality. The wifi etc are nice to have but I’ll not be using them.

There is this one issue I have stumbled across (only a minor issue) sometimes whilst driving the camera rattles on the stand so the video can be slightly wobbly and a slight noise in the audio, however, this can be fixed by retightening the camera on the stand. Bought this to replace a Mini0805 camera (50 quid off eBay, from China) which packed in after only 7 months use. 1. - The 312GW (and the mount) are short enough to hide the entire camera behind your rear view mirror (assuming the design of your car or windscreen allows it).
