About this deal

Mordenkainen Presents Monsters of the Multiverse (23) - Neothelid: D&D Icons of the Realms Miniatures: Essentials:

On the CoverThe wizard Mordenkainen soars through the Astral Plane astride a ki-rin—unaware of the astral dreadnought slinking toward them—in this painting by Grzegorz Rutkowski. A slime-covered worm of immense size, a neothelid is the result of the mind flayer reproductive cycle gone horribly wrong. These creatures can spray tissue-dissolving enzymes from their tentacle ducts, reducing victims to puddles of slime and leaving only the pulsing brains unharmed. The book also gathers together fantastical peoples from many different worlds. 5 inches tall, and is sure to prove a worthy challenge for your adventuring party!

Reviews

Aeon Archenar

. There are multiple new monsters that seem to be in preparation for Spelljammer. The races presented are great. These were reduced into small blurbs that are meant to be as vague as possible, giving you some of the flavor but none of the in-depth exploration of each races' culture and history, which was part of why the books were so large.

International delivery was swifter than dsred to expect! If you're looking to get the best bang for buck and have few to no books, this is an excellent choice.

Jacob Tindall

You can now be a ninja turtle. It offers a curated selection of monsters and player character races normally scattered across numerous books. This book is a great character and campaign booster for any DM.

Omar

Definitely recommend to new DMs or players looking for more options This book has a lot of player races and monsters from other modules. Another big change is in how monsters use their Spellcasting feature now, as they lack slots much like PCs do; instead, they have uses per day of each spell, and usually one spell attack unique to them. Thank you.

The media could not be loaded. The Additional races have a brief description, clearly there are improvements in monsters, for example a PC like the Tabaxis in Flight Guide, its Unarmed attack was in 1d4 and now in this manual you will find it with 1d6, it causes a little more damage but maintains the base of its abilities, and there are also improved races and monsters with some cuts (Pack Tactics or Pack Tactics) although, if you are looking for a richer Lore, you won't find it here, you'll find that one in Mordenkeinen's Tome of Foes.

Joy

For those who'd prefer a deep introspection into culture and history of some of the game's most popular races, VGtM and MToF are still undefeated - though do note that these books may no longer be in print. This equates Spellcasting to the previously-existiing Innate Spellcasting, and limits their access to a handful of attack spells and mostly buffing.
