The main concern of this unit, and may not affect you if you only plan on using the remote (details later), is the app. I bought this for my little sister and my self, we are both very happy and it works amazingly. The remote is one of the best I have in my home set up. The voice sensor is also amazing and you can adjust the sensitivity on the app!

1 little problem was the fact that the double sided tape dries fast if you don’t stick it fast after taking of the wrap, thankfully we only had this problem for about 30cm strip, easily fixed with some glue. This means I can set one on and an off for, say weekdays, but then can only set an on or an off for the weekends requiring further input to complete a 'sequence'.

The LED lights appear to be very good and I can't fault the brightness or colour output. Reason for 4 stars is plug lead not very long so had to hang extension on wall but apart from that these lights are fantastic and pretty easy to stick on aswell.

The app connects via Bluetooth, unlike other sets I have set up around the house that use WiFi connection, this impacts the battery life on the controller device greatly. Although, when powered down, there still remains a faint blue glow all around, so some power is still being emitted from the unit. Personally, I find the app VERY limited in functionality.

The lights are fitted around the room at ceiling level and give off a nice glow when powered on. However, the input sensing options respond to visual/auditory input well, so I have to give it a plus for that. If you find that the default colours on the remote do not match with what you are hoping for, then you can manually alter the hue, to your desired colour by increasing/decreasing the Red, Blue and Green Up/Down keys on the remote. Overall, the app (illumi home) is very sluggish at responding to user input and lags way behind other apps (such as Magic Home Pro which is far more configurable and responsive).
