It seemes so that the vanilla scented octopus with dots in the eye, which we expected to receive, is the one, which is currently produced for the European market and available in the UK and most of the European countries. Even the LAMAZE LOGOS are different on the two different toys. The yellow octopus on the left hand side (dots in the eyes) belongs to my friend, they've could buy it in any store in the UK (as that is sold in all major toy stores here), the green octopus on the right hand side (with hearts in the eye) is the one we've received from Amazon recently.

We came to the conclusion that sadly these toys' quality differs based on which market they were produced for. At first sight both of them are cute, but to be honest I was quite disappointed with the one we've received! The seller / Amazon (as it came as a Prime order) in order to avoid false advertisement should have made it clear to their customers that there was a chance they could receive different scentless version of this toy. .

My only problem is, that at the end of the day, I've received a different item than I paid for. The heart eyed octopus, we got, DIDN'T HAVE VANILLA SCENT as it was advertised, it was LESS SOFT and it was slightly BIGGER, but LIGHTER than the one with dots in the eyes.
