It looks like there are replacement whetstones as well. Also purchased the leather accessory for a polished mirror finish.

! It’s not the way Lansky recommend to operate but I find it gets a good pinch on the blade and therefore there is no need to add gripping agents to the clamp as other reviewers have suggested. If it is a Phillips screw, I will crush it again, so I bought a hex bolt. I had seen and bought a few other systems for knife sharpening but nothing that made me happy or the knife sharp for a while.

The gatco has a much better clamp, with more angles availible for use. Note 2) I grabbed the whetstone to sharpen the edge, but when I was sharpening in tune, the whetstone slipped and cut my hand. Unlike hand sharpening, the sharpening surface is visible, so there is no mistake of inadvertently sharpening serration when sharpening a blade with half serration. Compared to the most professional sharpening systems, this is the one that for me has the best value for money and quality.

Buy cut-resistant gloves now. Don’t hesitate in buying. You can also cut a small relief bevel for ease of sharpening in the futire. I've had the Lansky knife sharpening kit in the past and they are great.

This is the type of system I learned on and with the saphhire hone I can catch and split hairs. I could never quite get a smooth push cut with my gatco stones that were included with the kit. I think it's a good whetstone in general. I agree with the other reviews in the fact that the clamp is not so great but it works best if you screw the rear thumb screw all the way in and then use the small screw closest to the knife to clamp the knife down.
