Grinds down ya herb very nicely great peice of equipment to have Grinds the material to a nice consistency, nice and fluffy and only takes a couple turns.

5 inch is really big unless u have loads of oregano to grind get the smaller size. Thumbs up from me. Best grinder I have ever owned !

The lid is ever-so-slightly loose, allowing a fraction of movement from side to side when the grinder is closed, which could be a mistake in manufacturing, though I think will make for easier grinding as matter inevitably builds up around the edges, and is fairly irrelevant, especially given that the magnet feels strong enough to keep the lid in place even if it were loose in a bag. However, that's unlikely to occur as another nice and unmentioned bonus to this item is that it comes with its own little grinder-sized drawstring bag. I've had this grinder for a long time.

I bought this grinder just 2 years ago and it has been used EVERY DAYIt takes a bit of time to clean the grinding part but not too onerous . UPDATE 7/4/17A year later this grinder is still serving me perfectly. However that is not because of a fault the grinder is great and has been bashed about all over the place. Item was a day later than estimated delivery, but turned up in discreet packaging as promised, with the bonus of a pack of Raw organic hemp king skins and a booklet of Masterdam's own roaches in the box, which was a pleasant and unadvertised surprise, and more than made up for a slightly delayed arrival.

The grinder seems very good upon first inspection; it's a little rough at parts, for example the catcher had one stray wire going across it (initially I thought it was actually a part of the screen, but upon further inspection I discovered it was underneath, and I was able to remove it easily with a pair of pliers), and there are a couple of minute nicks on one or two of the internal surfaces, but nothing of any importance beyond superficial. The teeth remain very sharp and I've had to clean it about twice in that whole time, despite heavy use. The teeth are razor-sharp and feel very sturdy, so I expect the grinder will do well against solid matter as well as your usual herbs. Conveniently the holes are the right size to catch a lot of stems and leaves that may have slipped in there.

Highly reccomend. I decided on a Masterdam because my friend had a two-piece grinder of theirs that worked wonders, and it appears thus far to be a good decision.
