Disc in mint condition. Dickens' classic tale of kindness, truth and virtue is completely mucked up and ruined by having a member of the Blackadder family involved. Stuffed with deeply horrid people (many of whom are gigantically fat), and groaning with cartloads of seasonal bottom jokes, Christmas Carol manages to squeeze not only a Victorian Blackadder, but also his famous Elizabethan, Regency and Space Age relatives into a huge pie of entertainment that will satisfy all but the most discriminating viewers. And there's Baldrick too, of course, the man you can rely on to turn a Christmas dinner into a dog's dinner, as long as the dog isn't particularly fussy. Brand new DVD case.

(I'm 29 now) - Always adored Jon as Worzel and loved every episode, which was beautifully laced with tremendous writing. The restoration team did a flawless job. I really hope new generations of children discover the series now.

Seeing this on Blu-Ray upscaled in 4K on my player, blew my mind completely. Purchase of the year for me. The Worzel Gummidge film negatives were discovered in 2018; the commentaries on the set were recorded summer '21; the launch event at the BFI was April '22. Well done .

The eps are mini-films really, and as far as I'm concerned as enjoyable as the best Laurel & Hardy shorts. Been a Worzel fanatic since the 1980s.

I highly recommend this for anyone! The set also comes with a very informative booklet explaining each episode and contains rare photos.

The restoration of all four series is amazing the colours and sound are fantastic. To top it all off, a double-sided poster of the front cover by artist Graham Humphreys.
Was skeptical about the blu ray, especially because of the cost… but it has blown me away. I'm an avid Blu-Ray / 4K movie collector and can quite easily say that this is the BEST restoration quality I've ever encountered.
And this Blu-ray of course is several steps forward on that. Those types of complaints are purely down to personal taste and compared to how we've been watching these shows up until this release, it's a petty criticism, especially considering the effort and love that clearly went into restoring these episodes.
