Time will tell if it is firmly fixed and will not move. Thankfully managed in the end and the slow close slow closes nicely. There again the supplied fixings were inadequate, the bolt was far too short and there was no way to reach it to fit the washers and nut.

As it is a struggle to get under the toilet to access the fixings I had hoped to use to top fixing method with this seat, but unfortunately the rubber gromit supplied was very loose inside the holes in the pan and would have pushed straight through with minimal effort, so plumbed for the bottom fixing method. UPDATE after just over a month one of the pads under the seat fell off and was inevitably lost, which is very disappointing.
